Harley & Jesse
This was a Christmas gift for my Aunt. She has these two funny sweet little dogs that were just begging to be drawn. I almost made them out of felt but loved the sketches so much that they stayed in ink. I also tried something a little different with this one, coloring only the rug and collars, leaving the pups in gray. I love how it made them stand out in a neat new way.

Grandkids
I was contacted my my Uncle, back in September or October, to create a Christmas gift for his wife, my Aunt. I was honored! He wanted something that had all the grandkid’s names on it and that was the only request. After doing some pondering, I found a great quote about being a grandparent and decided on a house for the main theme. Home is where the heart is you know. Especially a grandparent’s home!

Lovebirds
I’m excited to share this wedding gift for my sweet niece! The main goal was to create something as bright and beautiful as she is, and the bright future ahead of them. The two birds are in their wedding attire sharing a sweet kiss on their wedding day. The quote “Come live in my heart and pay no rent” is by Samuel Lover. It spoke to me as the perfectly sweet sidekick to a perfectly sweet pair. The wedding was beautiful and I wish them eons of happiness!

Life is Good
A dear friend’s wife asked me to create the perfect birthday piece that would show all of the great things happening in his life. This was not an easy task! I ended up going with a quilt-like theme using “stitches” to join each of the roles together. My favorite part is the special haiku that surrounds him, written by his sweet wife.

Jonas & Molly
July 18, 2010 is the happy first wedding anniversary for this sweet couple. The groom wanted to include great memories from the wedding day and the honeymoon to Mexico. I also wanted to include important bits of their life at home, their furry babies. To hold it all, the snapshots were placed inside a treasure chest of love (they really have one!) along with the good bottle of wine and the letters that they wrote to each other on their wedding day. They will open the letters and enjoy the wine on their 10th anniversary. Happy Anniversary you two and here’s to many many more!

June Weddin’
I had SO much fun with this piece. A sweet woman contacted me about creating something for her son and his bride’s big day. They bought a new home and have two cats. I wanted to make the piece ooze with love and happiness, so of course had to add a rainbow, love rays and heart rain to make the flowers grow. Sorry, the unicorn just wouldn’t fit. Here’s to a happy beginning!

It’s Been a Great 10
This was a 10 year wedding anniversary gift. The fun challenge was to combine the names of husband, wife and two kids, and then add imagery of their family hobbies. They love bright colors so I wanted to try something different. This is the first Kirby Ink in full, vibrant color. Woo!

Mountain Pups
These two awesome dogs, Fremont and Mystic, have climbed more mountains that I can count. They roam the hills with their owners James and Sheila. For Sheila’s birthday, James ordered a special art piece featuring the pups. I wanted to highlight the mountains and the state flower of Colorado, the Columbine, to show where these guys live. Also, James is a terrific writer and is author of a few mountain climbing books. You can check him out over at his Mountainous Words website.
