Epic
This super cute couple has been dating for over a year and Lori needed something fun and different to give Jeff as a gift. Lori owns a cycling fitness center called Epic Ryde, the premier indoor cycling studio in Denver and they are both very active. This piece shows the couple with his sweet son, adopted from Korea and things that they like to do. I wish them all the best in their future together!

Mountain Pups
These two awesome dogs, Fremont and Mystic, have climbed more mountains that I can count. They roam the hills with their owners James and Sheila. For Sheila’s birthday, James ordered a special art piece featuring the pups. I wanted to highlight the mountains and the state flower of Colorado, the Columbine, to show where these guys live. Also, James is a terrific writer and is author of a few mountain climbing books. You can check him out over at his Mountainous Words website.
Jet Pack Pixel
Pixel, one of my cats, loves to zoom around the house like he’s on fire. He’s got these featherweight air bones which makes him glide. It really is like he has jet packs on his back propelling him from place to place. One day out of the blue I called him Jet Pack Pixel and had to draw it.

The good life
This was a fun one! Ordered by a friend for another friend’s birthday, it was a challenge I must admit. I wanted to incorporate his race car, some of the track he drives on, his new company’s logo and the names of his precious girls. All in one piece.

Harley & Jesse
This was a Christmas gift for my Aunt. She has these two funny sweet little dogs that were just begging to be drawn. I almost made them out of felt but loved the sketches so much that they stayed in ink. I also tried something a little different with this one, coloring only the rug and collars, leaving the pups in gray. I love how it made them stand out in a neat new way.

Grandkids
I was contacted my my Uncle, back in September or October, to create a Christmas gift for his wife, my Aunt. I was honored! He wanted something that had all the grandkid’s names on it and that was the only request. After doing some pondering, I found a great quote about being a grandparent and decided on a house for the main theme. Home is where the heart is you know. Especially a grandparent’s home!

Birdie Rescue
A friend posted a photo of her young son that had caught a bird in their yard. It was probably the cutest kid photo I’ve ever seen in my life and I was instantly inspired to draw it. Since we’ve had some warmer days up here in Colorado I wanted to get it finished. It is now my official Spring poster child (pun intended.) I admit that I did make some color changes along the way. I don’t think there are any of these birds free flying around Tennessee where they live, but I wanted the bird to go with the beautiful big blue eyes. Everything else just needed to be bright and “springy.”

Tai Chi Chai Tea
My neighbor Joe presented me with a list of amazing titles that offered up many wonderful visuals. This is the first in the series. It’s taken me a couple years to actually get it down on paper but the vision is complete. Now time for some tea.
