Kitty and a fiddle

The latest donation to Operation Shower. This baby shower theme is called “Over the Moon”, coming from the poem Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon… I thought I’d offer up my vision of the kitty and the fiddle, in his pantaloons of glory. This should look cute in some nursery somewhere!

The Baking Dead

What do you get a super cool athlete woman that is fulfilling her dream to own a bakery? You’re right! A custom piece of art! Inspired by the colorful and edgy Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) art, this piece is centered around baking. A stylish skull with rolling pin and spatula crossbones shows off her whole wheat cookies, muffins and brownies that float all around. Check out her goods over at Marathon Bakery.

Wooden Chairs

I started this chair series years ago and have finally decided to finish them. This is the first of the two.

Project Bliss

I love the family that ordered this piece. Not only because they could open a gallery with all the Kirby Inks they have, but because of the passion that they live their life with. This piece captures the fun time that they took off from their careers to spend with their son. How cool is that?!

New Orleans House

I enjoyed living in New Orleans after I graduated from college. I especially, like most people, love the architecture there. Here’s an early work that puts a Kirby spin on it.

Madison

A guy I worked with wanted to get a unique gift made for his young niece Madison. She loved flowers, rainbows and the color red, loved to swing and draw, and especially loved her pets: stuffed elephant “Cha-Cha” and hamster “Sparkles Lavender”

Love All Around

This baby shower gift was centered around the sweet rocker that was in the nursery. That chair will hold a lot of love! The bird is sending love from the tree outside. The pillow is a sign of love when mom and dad aren’t in the room.

Lighthouse

Sometimes I just don’t know how some pieces come to life. A lot come to me in a dream. I never said they had to make sense!

Heart in my Hands

This was just one of those days.

First Sign of Spring

We lived in a great neighborhood in Texas called…none other than…Greatwood. I always knew spring had arrived when the baby chicks started appearing around the lakes. This day happened to be St. Patricks Day. A perfect combo for some art!
